I was lucky enough to share the day with the human encyclopedia, Trong Nguyen of Paris Champagne Tour Company. We visited a small family run champagne producer Dominique Foureur of AmbonnayDominique Foureur cellars, built in 1609, are carved into the chalk which forms the basement of the Champagne region. They still complete much of the process by hand unlike the larger producers and the results speak for themselves.

Paris - Le marché aux Puces de Vanves

Another weekend in Paris and this time I am heading south to Le marché aux Puces de Vanves. Situated in the 14th arrondissement, the market runs along Avenues Marc Sangnier and Georges Lafenestre. This is the third biggest flea market in Paris, it is much quieter than the others and much, much more manageable. The market is all open-air and it feels more like an authentic flea market, with the dealers displaying their wares on trestle tables, crates or just spread on the ground. There is a fascinating array of antiques & collectables available, with smaller, more luggage friendly options than the other markets. I still think I need a shipping container though....
